Hospice by The Antlers is an album about a young guy losing a friend to cancer. Don’t worry everybody, it is exactly as depressing as it sounds. I won’t get too much into the lyrics yet, but they are the most devastating part of the whole thing. Another immediately noticeable part of the album [...] A few years ago, Paul McCartney wrote a song with the lyric “There is a fine line between chaos and creation.” I think that would be a good description of Annie Clark’s second album under the name of St. Vincent. Actor is a collection of pop songs that sound like they were poured over meticulously, [...] Back when The Tyler Forret was alive and posting, the first thing he wrote on this site was talking about some songs he was digging at the time. Two of those songs were from this album. Before he passed away, Tyler would always talk about how one of his favorite bands was The Thermals.
