A couple of weeks ago, my family gathered at Smokey Row in Des Moines for two purposes: 1) to celebrate my sister Emily’s birthday, and 2) to listen to our friend Kelly tell about her recent trip to Israel… - oh ok, three purposes – 3) to eat. If that doesn’t call for the [...] This will be a mash up post of lots of things happening around the Zeigler household. Be ready. We’re making frequent stops today. First: The baby has delighted me lately with his mastery of backing down from furniture. Sounds like a small thing, but this is really huge. You see, we have a climber on [...] Cool pool party, la la la la. The boys and I went to a pool party with some great friends last week. And I got some good pictures. Of their kids. Here is Jace, but not my Jace. Our friend Jace, adorable Jace. He’s a few months younger than my Jace, but heavier as scientifically [...] My sister Emily had an art show – her first – at Ephemera, a darling stationery, etc. shop in Des Moines’ East Village last Friday night. The show, in a word: successful. We were thrilled by the outpouring of support by some of our closest and oldest friends and relatives, and humbled & honored [...] The weekend was a doozy. I was excited Saturday to celebrate my little man Jett’s 4th birthday. I woke up feeling a little less than stellar. I chalked it up to something I had read on Facebook about the pollen count being freakishly high. See? Another diagnosis via the Internet. This time through a social [...] At the end of January, this merm went out on the town. The town of Ames, that is. What was the monumental occasion that took me so far from home base, you ask? My friends Ali and Sarah turned 30! Yes, they are wayyyy older than me. We ate at The Cafe. Yes, THE Cafe. [...] Yes, this post is a bit photo-heavy. My friend Ruth came over this morning with her daughter Abbie, who is just a few weeks younger than Jace. You could say they hit it off! We put them on the couch together, but did not pose them. Too cute. [...] Well, guys, it’s 2010! And yes, I had to hit the delete key as I began to type 200-. That’ll take some getting used to. Josh and I rang in the new year cuddling on our couch, watching a movie, our children tucked in and sleeping peacefully under our roof. I felt so grateful as [...] Because you guys know how much I love our very own Prairie Princess (dear friend and guest blogger here on ngco), I’d just ask you to keep her and her family in your prayers this week. The Rockband Extraordinaire. We had friends over (which doesn’t happen very often) Friday night. We played Beatles Rockband. What else would we do?
