It’s the first entry for the Naughty Files in a long while.
This is actually a phase of Jett’s that begun several weeks ago. But this weekend was especially bad.
Jett goes through periods of… let’s just say “high energy”. During these periods of “high energy”, he gets wild. Out of control. He cannot control thE VoluMe oF HIS VOICE! He jumps around and twirls or rolls around on the ground indiscriminately. He babbles in a loud, weird voice over me when I talk to him.
Saturday afternoon he started playing on the floor in the living room. In no time he had morphed into Crazy Person Jett. This isn’t a good look on him.
Unfortunately, Jace was on the floor also, and Jace caught one of Jett’s flailing knees right on the chin, causing Jace to put a pretty good slice in his own tongue. It started bleeding immediately. When Jett saw the blood, he looked very concerned… for himself.
In the first photo, you can barely see the cut, but it’s toward the tip of his tongue. Poor baby. Poor, cute baby. The rest of his pictures are for pure cuteness.
Then, yesterday morning in church, the service had just started and I could see the beginnings of Crazy Person Jett emerge. I leaned over to warn him as he was leaning forward and caught the back of his head on a swift, jerk-up motion which landed right on my lip. That started bleeding right away, too.
I am pouting… my lip isn’t that big.
It is just a little bit swollen.
When Jett gets so worked up and crazy, I have him run laps around the house if the situation is appropriate – this happens multiple times every day. I’ll keep track of his laps from inside when he passes the front door. This tactic usually helps him to burn off the extra energy and he forgets – for the moment – about being naughty. He usually doesn’t hurt anyone – though the potential to hurt someone is there – it’s just extremely annoying.
I sure hope this phase ends soon.

OUCH!
Love the running lap tactic, we use that one frequently. It’s a win win.
Cute babe pictures too.
We have the same problem with Gabriela. She’s always been high energy and I have the hardest time getting her to calm down. She seems to not be able to help it. I’ve had her run around the BLOCK (with me close behind) and still doesn’t seem to do any good. Just the way she is? Don’t know. But I like your solutions!! Sorry ’bout your lip. I get so mad when my kids do that to me…andre got me on the eyebrow today. Accident. Still made me mad. I cried! Big Baby!
And you are welcome. :)
Still another low cut (too small) onesie on my baby grandson!
The onesies that look like they are too small are 9 month sizes, but that particular brand (Gerber) runs smaller than all the other 9 month clothing that are still fitting him, thankyouverymuch. That said, they probably do need to go.
I like your earrings
You know me… accessory city.
