Have you ever looked at a picture of a child and suddenly been confronted with the look of age on his or her face? The loss of baby cheeks, the subtle changes in facial features… all indicators that time is not on our side. That childhood moves too quickly. That there is no stopping this clock of life.
I had a series of those moments this weekend.
Observe:
And this one… this one pains me!
Weren’t they just babies? Wasn’t I just changing their diapers?
Now instead of baby food, it’s shaving gel. We’ve swapped Transformers for Norelco beard trimmers and Toys R Us for The Sharper Image.
As for me? I’m sad about this. But their pappy would have been so proud… if we hadn’t lost him on the Oregon Trail.

Ha! Ha! Love it.
Thanks for the good laugh this morning!
U r wierd.
Jace looks like one of my former co-workers. Small amount of hair, abundance of mustache. LOL
Lol! Josh looks creepy…
Remember the mustache you guys sketched on Jude’s face when he must have been a month old? He looked like Inspector from the Pink Panther It was soooo funny, I think one member of your family mentioned “those kids don’t have enough to do” or some such thing.
These pictures are about as funny, all except Jett, I’ll bet he looks just like this in a few years.
As for Jace…..right up there with Jude’s picture.
I agree with Pappy. You’re weird. But you make me laugh, and it’s what keeps me coming back. Jace is all too innocent. That “what’s so funny?” smile? Does it get much sweeter?
