My sister Emily is a very artistically talented young woman. I’ve featured her work several times on this blog. She loves to paint. Several months ago, she had asked my dad to cut up MDO (medium density overlay) board into 8” x 8” squares. She’s been painting away on them ever since; her inspiration for the pieces was graphically interesting subjects/objects… that’s your hint, you’ll have to check them out for yourselves Friday.
Through a friend, Emily was put in touch with the gals who own Ephemera and they set up a gallery showing for this Friday, July 2nd, to kick off their “Green Wall Art for All” series. I’ve seen most of the paintings, they are all great – so great in fact that there are MANY I want to buy. They are priced right at $27 each, quite a few will sell very quickly, if I had to guess. Emily is donating everything she makes to Marshall County’s Drug Endangered Children (DEC) alliance to help kids close to home.
I’ve been looking forward to this Friday for weeks. It should be a great time to enjoy art, conversation, old and new friends, food and wine. Be there!
