Easter rockets

Rockets are synonymous with the celebration of our risen Lord and Savior.  Didn’t you know?

Once again, a family gathering meant that rockets were launched from the seat of a broken chair at my Grandma Bev’s house.  It’d been a rough winter on everyone, especially on my dad who hadn’t had a launch since, what?  November of ‘09?  That’s rough, my friends.

That’s my oldest, running for the hills at the first launch of the day.  And while you’re at it, DO YOU SEE THE SIZE OF THAT ROCKET!?  We’re evolving, people.

Hold up, here is a picture of me and Mister Man.  Just taking in the jubilation that rocket launches bring.

When it comes down to it, everyone has a job.  It takes a village.  Or it takes a hick on a four-wheeler with no shoes and a preschooler to track down the spent rocket for retrieval.

Launch.  Retrieve.  Repeat.  Teach the young.

The peanut gallery.  Given, this was after the 3rd or 4th launch and everyone was getting a little worn out from all of the excitement.  So much so, that I actually went inside.  I had enough rockets for one day.  In the future, what do you say we limit it to 4 launches per gathering?  Guys?  A gal’s heart can only take so much.

One important reason I went inside was to capture a moment of my 92-year-old great-grandma with her baby great-great-grandson:

Precious, innit?

And speaking of GG being a GGG, she became a GGG to another young life today!  Congratulations to my cousin Ashleigh and her hubby Derek on the birth of their first child – A GIRL – this morning.  Little Miss Emma Gale!  The first little girl of the newest generation of little ones.  Someone tell me what to do around a girl baby.  I’m clueless!
