My life

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already!

Last weekend we spent some time with Josh’s side of the family at a hotel for swimming and general hanging out.  As we were leaving the house, I realized I had forgotten my camera.  It’s no wonder, Josh and I were scrambling around getting the house in show condition just in case someone wanted to show it while we were away (they didn’t).  We also had bags to pack and kids to get ready.  We had a wonderful time and I don’t have a single picture to show for it.

We do this family hotel trip once a year.  This year was so much better than last year as far as the older boys were concerned.  They did a great job in the pool.  They both wore life jackets the whole time and had a great time endlessly paddling around.  Needless to say, they were tired boys by the end of the weekend.

Jace was passed around to anyone who cared to hold him, and that was great for him and me.  Josh and I both had time to swim with the older boys and had a genuinely fun time doing so.

In house news: we’ve had three showings so far, and haven’t received feedback on any of them (alright, one showing was last night, so maybe we’ll hear something today) and no one has visited more than once.  It’s ok.  I’m not getting anxious yet.  Tomorrow will mark two weeks listed.  I’m encouraged that people want to look at it; we’re planning an open house for the beginning of March.  Spring fever, baby.  I’m ready for it.  We’ve only looked at one house that isn’t even technically for sale and loved some parts about, and weren’t too excited about other aspects.  There was another house we were going to look at, but an offer was accepted the night before, so that was a no-go.

I’m getting better about keeping the house tidy.  I figure this is what regular adults do all the time, but it’s kind of a new thing for me.  Josh has also been a great big help and that takes some of the pressure off.

I found out that I indeed won the fitness challenge I’ve been telling you about!  My score was 20, which was 9 pounds + 11 inches.  The next closest was 12.5, a combo of pounds and inches.  I have the choice between 3 months free membership, an MP3 player, or a gift card to a restaurant.  I’m choosing the free membership.  I figure that’s roughly a $120 value, which is also like getting back half of the cost of training.  Sweet!  I’ll take it!

If my life is an open book, which it is most of the time, you’re caught up!

Shout out to Melissa and Travis (Mandatory Reporter).  I especially had a great time talking to you guys this weekend.  Much love.

  • Update: I spoke too soon. The gym just called and it looks like I still get the 3-months free, but I’m going to be sharing my title. You see, I declared myself the winner because Monday night when I was at the gym, I saw a sign that said Letter C (my letter, it was anonymous) along with my stats was the winner and almost all other participants had final numbers next to his/her respective letter. The weigh-in was a week ago Monday, the 15th, but there was another person who had either not weighed-in or was not measured until later (probably a week or so later). Her stats were 11 pounds lost and 9, almost 10 (is what the gym manager said) inches lost. Ideally, weigh-ins and measurements should have taken place at the same times for everyone, but that wasn’t possible, I guess. I’m competitive, can’t you tell? Anyway, turns out that it was much closer than I thought!

Good job on the fitness! Are you able to share your workouts with us? I need to find something different.

We had fun last weekend too – always fun to see you guys! We’ll have to get together again sometime soon.

Thanks for the shout out! Holllaaa!

Congrats on the fitness competition! I’m with you. That sounds bogus if the other competitor was able to weigh in a week later.

It was wonderful chatting with you guys as well. Thanks for the love. Looking forward to seeing you sooner than later.
