Jace is 5 months old today!
Shortly after the 4-month mark, he began rolling over from his back to his tummy. Now he rolls over every which way with ease. He also loves to sit up, but he can’t do this on his own for very long. He’s also inadvertently been up on his hands and knees, but not for long and not with purpose. I’m excited for him to figure out how to crawl, but realize that my life will change dramatically when he does. Yikes! His older brothers have lots of toys that contain ridiculously tiny parts.
Jace is sleeping terrifically still and I won’t get into details lest I receive hate mail from my not-so-lucky friends. Just remember how tumultuous the potty training era was for me and I promise you won’t ever think of being jealous of me again.
We’re still nursing, too. Jace is a great eater, although, now that he’s such a big guy he gets distracted now and then. You’ll have that. Once a day he eats rice cereal which he seems to enjoy. I expect to start introducing vegetables in the next month or so.
Jace has such a joyful spirit. Yesterday in church I was holding him and physically felt him tense up numerous times, each time I found his eyes locked with people in the congregation with a huge smile on his face. He only laughs when he’s being tickled right now – I can’t wait for him to freely laugh – that will be a treat.
Lastly, his hair… wait, let’s not go there. =) He’s precious just the same.
Confession: I didn’t even RECOGNIZE YOU in this picture! That is you right? You’ve always been gorgeous and photogenic but the hair, the weight loss, it’s all working for you girl. Jealous party of one here.

Really? I don’t particularly like this picture, but I thought that in 5 years from now, I would want to see myself looking “young” with my baby. Younger, anyway. Thanks for the kind words!
I love the picture of you and Jace. I agree w/Prairie Princess; you look different although beautiful as ever. Jace is a handsome dude, but I didn’t expect anything else. Take it from me and take all the “young” pics while you can. We recently saw some home videos from 20+ years ago. That was an eye opener!!!
