I just thought I’d take a moment to check in with yous guys.

Guess what I’ve been doing lately?  Packing up our house.

We’re lookin’ to move.  Hopefully soon.  But, before we move, we need to sell our current house.  That would be the preferred order of things, anyway.

My mom has our older boys all weekend while I busily get the stuff we won’t need for the next 6+ months out of the way.  I bought big, plastic storage totes today and am filling them up at an alarming rate.  Tomorrow they’ll end up in a storage locker.

I bought smaller storage bins to make the stuff that’s staying look… well, more organized.  As if.  By the way, can I even tell you how much I’m NOT looking forward to keeping the house in “show-condition” with my boys?  And my distaste for immediately taking care of dishes and laundry?  The correct answer is I cannot tell you.  It’s not quantifiable.   Just trust me when I say I’m not looking forward to that part of it.

I’m anxious to move on to the next house, wherever that may be… within our current town, that is.  Oh, how I love our current town.  Wouldn’t want to leave our current town.  But which house we will end up in?  That’s the exciting part – I have no clue!  Maybe it’s one that isn’t even listed yet. 

We moved into our house almost 5 years ago.  Well, it’ll be 5 years in April.  It’s just a house to me.  I’ve always seen it as a transitional house and now it’s time to transition outta here.  I don’t think I’ll be emotionally weird about leaving it.  But, I have raised a lot of babies here.  That’s the emotional wildcard… babies.
