In God news:
Sunday we had our first regular Sunday worship service in our new church building! Josh and I started attending New Hope church a little more than three years ago.
One of the first Sundays we visited, the congregation kicked off its building campaign, seeking donations to build an actual church building. Great timing, right? “Hey, you’re new here, would you like to help us build a church?” We really loved the church body right away and decided it was where we needed to be.
At that time, the church was meeting in the auditorium of the high school for services. It worked out well for the most part – but all the equipment had to be set-up and taken down each week. Sunday school classes, the nursery, and children’s church all had to take place in the teachers’ lounge, the band room or a hallway.
The very first families who started the church had been meeting for more than ten years, so to finally have a building to call our own was a huge blessing! More than 300 were counted at our first service.

Another new thing we started this last Sunday was a Bible study. It’s called The Truth Project and it’s a 12-part video series that talks about truth: what it means to our society, what it means biblically. It’s going to get deep, I’m afraid. I actually like thinking about these deep, philosophical questions, even though it confuses me and frustrates me. I can’t help think that the more we talk, discuss, debate these important questions, the more I’ll learn and grow. I’ve been thinking a lot about the study since Sunday and I’m looking forward to hearing more next week. Plus, I really like the people who are doing the study with us. And, no kids on the premises, did I mention that?!
Has anyone ever heard of this study? Anyone participated in it?

“In God news” that made me laugh. I’ve heard wonderful things about the Truth Project. Please report back with your findings.
This looks like a good study, judging by the information I found when I clicked on the site.
Also, how nice that your church is done, what a relief to have a “home”
Gram, the church building is located East of Adel on the south side of Hwy 6, kind of up on a hill. It’s a really nice location.
How neat to be part of a project like a church building! The Truth project will be good. I have heard excellent commnets. Maybe this is my inspiration to get it going in our church!
