Update: week 6

Just a short update today.

Tuesday I broke the double-digits barrier and accomplished 10 pounds lost.

After reading many convincing articles about the importance of drinking water especially as it pertains to weight loss, I’ve been focusing on that.  Since the kitchen is the hub of my home I have decided to keep a tumbler with 16 ounces of water in it and whenever I pass through, I drink some.  Then I refill the glass right away.  I’m finding that this method works well for me and very easily drank more than 10 – (8 oz) cups of water yesterday.

Exercise has been going well.  I’ve been incorporating more jogging/running on the treadmill and that’s been good.  A future goal will be to do weight training, but I’ll probably wait until I buy personal training sessions after Christmas to tackle that realm… I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing.  Also, I’m hoping that little-to-no grunting will be involved.  It kind of creeps me out when I hear guys at the gym with all of their grunting.  I don’t know how much is necessary and how much is for He-Man: Masters of the Universe-effect.

  • Congrats, that’s awesome! Being the good friend that I am, I’m tempted to bring you some celebratory Buckeye Bars or PW’s Peanut Butter Pie but will refrain. :)
I’ll be joining you in your weight loss quest on January 1st once I eat my way thru the holidays.

Congrats on double digits! I can’t imagine you’ll be doing much grunting as I’m assuming you’ll be doing lighter weights & numerous reps. As for the grunting doods at the gym, take it easy on them, forceful breathing is a must during explosive weight training…and tennis. Just ask Monica Seles.
