More Christmas

There’s Dylan!  He really lucked out this Christmas with a lot of sports apparel.  Vikings, Cowboys, Iowa gear, oh my!

Christmas morning we were at my mom & dad’s house.  The boys were ripping off wrapping paper but not bothering to look inside the boxes.  They’d just go to the next one.

Here was Josh helping one of the boys with a gift – Beatles shirts for the big boys!

My brother Jacob got storm trooper outfits for the older boys.  And then he commented that they looked like they belonged in a cult.  And he was right.

And thus concludes my Christmas pictures.  Should’ve taken more.

This is a perfect opportunity to go on a little rant.

Yesterday, for the first time in this house – I felt so outnumbered.

Boys v. girl.

Way too much lightsaberin’, video-game playin’, bodily functionin’ boy stuff going on.

And anyone who really knows me knows that I’m not now – nor ever have been a prissy, dainty, girly-girl.  Quite the opposite.  I’m about as “guy” as they come without being one.  So you know my tolerance for the above mentioned things has to be really high.  And I still wanted to run for the hills.

Josh was home for the last few days but now he’s back to work, and dare I say I’m a little bit thankful for the lowered testosterone level around here – but just a short break, though, I love when he comes through that door at 5:50 pm.

Now for a quick little story.  Grandpa Doug got the older boys lightsabers – giant lightsabers – for Christmas this year.  They’ve been a hit.  Yesterday afternoon when they were playing with the lightsabers, Jett said, “Complete saga, to the rescue!”  He’s a funny guy.

And also – less funny – is that Jace has been hit in the face by two different lightsabers in the time it took to type that.  Poor kid.

But he’s ok.  Trust me.

Want proof?

Ugh! I so know what you are talking about! I am not girly either but there comes a time that the boxing, wrestling and talking about private parts IS JUST TOO MUCH!

Well, Jessie, each noon I look around the table and there are guys on every side of me! One summer we had 4 hired men and Ivan at the table! It’s like they also have their own language and way of communicating too. I love my guys and all the work they do for our farm but a little girl talk and girl help with food and dishes would be wonderful at times! Ruth is great when she is home!! So be prepared when your guys grow up for gallons of milk to be consumed and lots of food! Also no girl talk! But I am just thinking that Grandma Ada had 7 brothers!!!!! No sisters :(
