The temperatures of late have been amazing!  I swear, the boys have spent so much more time playing outside in November and yesterday – the first day of December – than in August. It’s been great for this mama.

The kids are spending more and more time playing outside by themselves – which has been the best thing ever.  I still watch them very closely from inside, but it’s different than having to be out there with them with the baby.  Baby doesn’t do bright or cooler temps well… at all.  The older boys know the rules – we go over them each and every time before they go out.  They have been uncharacteristically obedient in this regard.  They know that they will be dragged kicking and screaming back inside to stay if they don’t comply with the outside rules.

Yesterday morning on the way to preschool Jude asked if they could wear their costumes outside.  I thought it was a great idea, so after Jett was home from preschool and after lunch, they suited up and rolled out.  I know we’re not going to have many more days like yesterday to take advantage of.

I’m encouraged – this spring will be even better!  I’ll have a 5 and a 4 year old.  I can hardly believe it.  They’re actually getting easier.

Please, boys, don’t make me eat those words.
