The nerd supreme

You might look at this picture and think to yourself: “That is one cool guy!”

dylan_nerd You’d be right most of the time, but this last Tuesday you would have been sorely mistaken.

I found out yesterday that Dylan was named top nerd at high school.  This is an honor, you see, because he has been participating in the high school’s Homecoming week festivities by dressing according to each day’s theme.  Tuesday was nerd day – and voilà! – Dylan was nerd of them all.

Mom helped him find too-short, high-rider pants, taped up glasses and even slicked down his short hair to look the part.  I was told the news of him winning was announced over the intercom system throughout the whole school.

And Dylan also had a big day Tuesday for other reasons.  Let’s just say he received a very important phone call from a girl asking him to the Homecoming dance, and we’ll leave it at that for now.  I can’t wait to hear all about his first Homecoming dance – and date for that matter!  We must have pictures!

Let’s clarify this a little: Dylan is going with a group, but a girl called to see if he wanted to join. Two of the girls are sisters, one being a freshman who I’ve found out, is a little bummed that her older sister will not be giving her all the attention, that she’ll be sharing with Dylan. Flowers, dinner before hand and picture taking will also be part of the fun evening.
