A family wellness update

It’s been a rough week!

Jude’s symptoms have been consistent with the H1N1 virus.  He’s still running a fever, but last night he was doing pretty well.  I was warned, however, by our pediatrician’s nurse that the fever and symptoms tend to go away for awhile only to return (sometimes worse), so we’re not out of the woods yet.  I guess that’s why in the news you’ve heard experts say that a person should be fever free for a full 24-hours without the aid of a fever reducer before returning to normal activities.  Jude’s fever has been well managed by alternating Tylenol and Motrin every 4 hours.  He has been a playful kid, which I like to see, just not with my still-healthy and symptom-free Jett.

Which brings me to my next update: Jett and Jace both are doing well!

Josh came home from work Monday night and crashed on the couch.  Literally.  His body ached and he experienced fever and chills.  He took the day off yesterday and has been sleeping… a lot.  I really didn’t see him yesterday until about 6:30 pm.  He’s got the same cough as Jude and me, as well.  Lovely stuff.

I’ve had this nagging dry cough since Sunday and only yesterday did I start having headaches and very slight body aches.  I’ve taken ibuprofen – which is supposed to be ok to do while nursing – and that has helped.  Still no fever for me!  Overall, I’m doing well… only slightly annoyed that moms don’t get sick days.  The kids, dishes, laundry, messes, etc., don’t stop.  Thankfully, my mother-in-law brought over some homemade chicken noodle soup for us last night – it was delicious and one less thing for me to do!
