Happy 30th wedding anniversary to my parents today! Before I talk about them, I first want to talk about the photo above. It was taken in February of this year by my friend Alisa. It’s my favorite picture of Mom & Dad evah. It captures them perfectly. As I’ve been reflecting on [...] Isn’t she beautiful? This is my friend Sarah. She’s been my friend for such a long time and I absolutely love her. See that belly? Only about a month until her little guy is due to arrive! And this is Sarah’s husband Brandon. There just aren’t many things as exciting as a couple expecting [...] Remember when I wrote about getting the Rock Band video game and the fact I was posting warnings for bad behavior on the refrigerator? We’re still doing it: the third warning means no Rock Band. Well, the other day I issued Jude a warning – I can’t even remember now what it was for – [...] Yes, the hubster is 28 today! Happy birthday, honey. This is one of my favorite things about Josh: His sense of humor, obviously! How could you not love this guy? This picture was taken in 2005, but don’t worry, it was still a good 6 years after the catch phrase on his shirt was popular. [...] My mom & dad came for a visit Sunday afternoon to see their grandkids. Instead of just sitting around and looking at each other, the guys decided to make a trip into Des Moines. Josh had been wanting The Beatles Rock Band for awhile and because he gets whatever he wants, they tracked it down [...] Last week we were running pretty low on groceries. Really, since Jace has been born, I haven’t been cooking… at all. Unless you count making BLTs because I’ve done plenty of that. For weeks and weeks we had meals provided by our wonderful church family and friends. And it ruined me. It spoiled me. I [...] Warming up…

I’m a sucker for homemade gifts. Go figure – a gal like me who likes to make ‘em also likes receiving ‘em! A girlfriend of mine, Amber, made this for me – er, Jace… um, us! It’s a hexagonal crocheted [...] As I was emailing a response to a friend over the weekend who asked how things were going around here, it occurred to me that a primary role I’m playing is bodyguard to the little one. And Josh is doing the same. Josh is doing a great job. See? Safe and sound in Daddy’s arms. [...] |
