I’m writing this at the end of the 3rd day following Jett’s tonsillectomy. He’s had his ups and downs, and thankfully – they’ve mostly been ups.
He’s still not taking his Tylenol with codeine based on taste alone, but we’ve been keeping up with the regular children’s Tylenol like clockwork: every 4 hours (except overnight).
This morning Jett was really sore. He woke up crying and clenching his throat. I felt so badly for him. He’s still sleeping with his mouth open (will this be relearned?) so I can imagine the dryness combined with the sores was not pleasant.
He had one other breakdown today when he cried for about 45 minutes straight. The trauma occurred when he woke up in our driveway after we had returned from picking Jude up from the green dinosaur (our meeting point with Abba is a gas station with a green dinosaur in front). He’d missed the green dinosaur and Abba completely and he was devastated. We were also due for the next round of Tylenol and the timing of the two events was one of the worst things to happen since the surgery itself.
Since then, he’s been pretty normal acting. Even rambunctious. I uploaded a video we took of him the day right after surgery. I wondered if the pain and soreness would ever catch up with him.

His voice does sound a little higher! I hope he feels this “great” the rest of the week!
