Jett’s potty training book

We’ll see if this helps!  Here’s the link to the “book” I just made for him, if you want to check it out:

I plan to sit him on my lap and look at this with him each day on the computer.  When we get to the part about marking days off the calendar, I’ll be able to easily edit the file and add a big, fat X to that day.

Besides reading this story to him, I don’t plan to talk about potty training much.  I’ll just keep him in diapers and make sure he stays in his diapers until he’s ready to give it another go.

His tonsillectomy is this Friday anyway, and I’m not going to be too concerned about potty training while he’s recovering.

I need a new parenting challenge!  Keeping him comfortable post-surgery might just be that challenge.

  • The book is adorable! It will work I can feel it. A wise woman once told me, “you can’t force it they have to decide they want to do it and once they decide it’s a piece of cake.” Of course I didn’t heed her advice with child #1, in fact did quite the opposite and it backfired (no pun intended) and delayed the progress. I took the advice with the next 2 and turns out it’s so true. Let’s hope this helps Jett “decide” he wants to be potty trained. :)

What a great idea with the book!! Very nicely done:) Hope this goes well for all of you!! Potty training is not my favorite thing about parenting – wish there was a school for this….some days when training Grant I would have much rathered someone else be cleaning up the messes and crying over poopy pants – yes, I did, I cried at one point as I was emptying his poop from the underwear, not the proudest moment as a mom – but, I was pregnant, does that count as an excuse??!!
