Create your gravatar

A gravatar is a globally recognized avatar.  Basically, when you comment on this blog or another blog, you’ll get an image that will automatically pop up next to your comment (click in the comment section of any of my posts that have been commented upon to see what I’m talking about).  Oddly enough, a wordpress default image (if you don’t have a gravatar) looks very much like a quilt block.

Using a gravatar is a way you can show your picture or express yourself with another image.  I’ve noticed that more and more of you have signed up for a gravatar, and not wanting to leave anyone out, I thought I’d post directions for everyone to read.

It only takes a minute: visit the site http://en.gravatar.com, click on the “Sign up now” link and follow the instructions.

Soon after you’ve uploaded and saved your image, you’ll see it appear next to comments you’ve previously made on this blog, provided you use the same email address to link the two.  Exciting!

If you’ve recently created your own gravatar or just today signed up and are sporting a new look, comment here, we’d love to see what you’re working wit’.
