More creative birthday cards

Early readers of this blog will remember some of the previous cards my sister Emily has created for my kids’ birthdays.

And if you’re not an early reader of this blog.  Here you go:  Jude 3 year, Jett 2 year.

I’m looking out for you.

Which now has me thinking… I was just going to post Jett’s new one, but now I realize I didn’t get Jude’s posted this year either.  The fallout from not having my laptop is still haunting me (shudder).

So let’s do this in order.  Here was Jude’s 4th birthday card from Auntie Em:

BdayCard

Wall.e is so big around our house.  Emily always hits the hot trends.

And here was Jett’s 3rd birthday card:

JettBday

The kids just light up with excitement when they look at these cards – to this day.  Since I was without my laptop on Jett’s birthday this year, I didn’t even see this until we went to my parents house a short time later.  Mom had printed it out for the great unveiling.

Jett immediately recognized Mt. Rushmore and began staring.  By habit, he began rattling off the presidents’ names.  And then squealed and jumped around when he saw his face.  He couldn’t put it down.

Later when showing others (we had to carry it around wherever we went for a few days), he would say each president and then when he got to himself he would say, “And Jett Douglas Zeigler!”

We went through a few paper copies of this; thanks to constant use it was getting wrinkled and well, wet from slobber.  Then Mom printed another new one and then laminated it.  Perfect.

These keepsakes have got to last!
