Graduated but not yet done

My little brother Jacob.  Well, at least he’s younger.  That’s probably the more appropriate term.  Yes, my younger and only brother gradumatated from ISU with his undergraduate degree this month.  Go Jacob!  Congratulations!

But he’s not quite done.

I don’t know exactly how much school he has left.  I am pretty sure that he was allowed to take graduate level credits last semester, but am unsure if that alone will speed up his master’s program.  I’m pretty much just making this up.  I only have an associates degree, what do I know?  But, check me out… I’m still kick ass.  Right guys??  Right?

He wants to be a structural engineer when he grows up.  And I think he’ll do it.  He’s got the brains, he’s got the drive, he’s got real life job experience.  The field seems to fit him.

And who’s the pretty lady right next to him?  That would be his best girl Morgan.  They’ve been dating for awhile now.  Like, years, but that again is something I’m unsure of.  Four years maybe?  More?  Seems like they dated before he went to college.

This I do know: we went out to eat (Granite City) to celebrate this momentous occasion, because I’m pretty sure none of us will go to the commencement.  Or maybe the commencement has already occurred? One thing I’m positive of: I must have ate too much because I’m writing this at 1:30 a.m. with acid reflux.  I don’t think I ate too much at the restaurant, but maybe the bowl of fruit I had when I got home put me over the edge.  Or maybe it was the two bricks of chocolate almond bark that I melted and then drizzled over said fruit was really what put me over the edge.

Dang it!  And  I’d been doing so well – eating right and such.  This reflux crap is enough to make me hold off the sweets next time I’m jonesing at 10:30 pm.

Maybe.
