- Since I wrote about Jett’s not-so-excellent prune adventure yesterday, he only had one more bad diaper. Poor guy. From the very first diaper change, I knew we might be in for it, so I was especially gentle when wiping him. One through six he tolerated well, but that 7th diaper change was terrible. He howled and cried and didn’t want me to come near him. I didn’t even try to clean him with wipes, we went straight for the tub, and he had so much pain even bending over and sitting in the tepid water. Oh my. And then his tummy grumbled all night – and he still went after the last 3 prunes in the package multiple times until I hid them from him. I tried to tell him that was the source of his bottom misery, but he didn’t understand.
- We had so much fun today playing outside (a.k.a. eating snow) in the beautiful weather. We even went for a winter walk and the kids did so well listening to me, not running too far ahead, not lagging too far behind. It felt so good to get out in the fresh air and exercise. One and a half hours to make up for the last several months of relative inactivity? Not quite, but I’ll take what I can get.
- We have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow. I’m excited with nervous anticipation. It’s too early to know the gender, but still – I just hope everything looks ok. We’re taking the kids with us, so it could be wild, but at least Josh will be there so he can take them in the waiting room and/or car if they don’t handle it well.
