Now that's talent

I’m still healthy!  Can you believe it?  The boys are ok, too.  We held our breath (literally and figuratively) over a rather nasty diaper of Jett’s and thought it could be the start of a sick spell for him.  But, he’s ok too!

The kids and I went to Mom & Dad’s house Friday afternoon.  I brought my sewing machine with me.  I thought maybe it would be too much work hauling it there for the amount of sewing time I’d actually get, but it was totally worth it.  I got so much done on the log cabin table runner I took pictures of last week.  It’s almost done and I love the way it’s turning out.

While we were at Mom & Dad’s house, my sister Emily was visiting also and gave me these paintings:

These pictures don’t even do these pieces of art justice.  Emily is so talented!  She bought the canvases at Hobby Lobby on clearance with the diamond border and a flower at the center; she painted over the flowers and left the border!  They are so cool.  I think she intended to give them to me for Christmas but couldn’t wait!

Now the hard part is deciding where to display them in our home.  Part of me wants to keep them in my bedroom because I have nothing cool in my bedroom (except for a wall mirror that I like) and I want to enjoy these daily.  Josh thought about putting them in the boys room, but I don’t want to risk the kids jumping up and knocking them off the wall and somehow harming them.  But the kids LOVE them.  I also want visitors to our home to see them, so maybe we’ll put them in a common area like the living room.  We’ll see.
