Let me explain…
#1) In this colder weather, I let the boys wear pajamas during the day if we’re not going anywhere. Jude LOVES wearing his pajamas! Especially ones with the footies.
*Side note: when the weather is warmer and we’re home for the day, they usually wear nothing but a diaper/underwear. This is their preference and I don’t mind. Their home is where they are safe and comfortable, and besides, I (mostly) know how to pick my battles. Occasionally, when we come home from being out-and-about, they’ll walk in the door, take off their shoes and just keep peeling until they are down to their skivvies. Friends of ours recently (on a warm day) came over to our house and when they were greeted by our children, the husband said to his wife: "See, I told you they’d be running around without any clothes on!" Funny! They know us too well.
Sorry about that tangent, back to the pictures!
#2) This picture was taken right after nap time. During nap time, I still put a Pull-Up on Jude even though he’s potty trained. You see, he often naps on our bed, so I like the extra security even though he’s almost always dry after naps. So, after his nap, he stood at the toilet (he does all of this on his own now), unzipped his zipper, peeled off the Pull-Up by way of the tear-away sides and did his business. Then, as is the routine, he went to his underwear drawer and put on a clean pair of undies. Well, he slipped the undies on over the pajamas still encasing his feet. He came out to the kitchen where I was and said, "Something is not right." I started to help him out and then thought better of it and reached for my camera.
#3) In my organizational fit, I’ve started in on the coat closet that has NEVER had any semblance of order. I started a pile of clean coats, scarves, hats and mittens and washed all the others. The boys were accessorized most of the day. So, that explains the red fluffy scarf in the picture. Explains it, but doesn’t make it right! :)
Well, I’m off to get my Great-Grandpa Fred mole removed from my forehead! Later!
(If the record playing the imaginary sound track of your life just scratched… don’t worry, that too, I will explain later.)

And he’s color co-ordinated and everything! I love your philosophy on life, Jessie – and you’re right – you do have to pick your battles!! Good job!!
Jessie, I loved it when my girls could keep their footie jammies on all day, it was so cozy and nice for them, I love days like that. We lived in an older house back then that was drafty, so it was out of necessity that I let them do it, but non the less, I loved those days. I still think footed pjs are the cutest things on little ones. I saw a mom the other day at fareway like at 8:30 at night and her little one had on her footed pjs, I don’t blame her it was chilly and I’m sure the little one went right home and went to bed. You are right about picking battles, thats a lesson I learned early with the girls when they were little and even now that they aren’t so little. Take care and have a good day. Barb
WHAT!? You’re removing your grandpa Fred mole??? That’s your signature!!
