Last week we did a sticker project. I let each boy choose his color of construction paper and gave each a sheet of Thomas the Train stickers.
And this is what they came up with:
Jett is on the left. Can you tell we still have drooling issues? Jude is on the right. On this particular day, he had to get his Batman sunglasses as soon as I mentioned taking pictures.
Anyway, I thought it was very interesting that Jett spaced his stickers out evenly using the whole paper and overlapping only a few stickers while Jude overlapped most of his and opted for portrait (vs landscape) orientation keeping all of his stickers near the top.
They were really into this craft project, which surprised me. They do NOT like to color. But cutting paper? Oh man! That’s the best. They love Play Dough, too. I think they’ll love painting, I bought some paints recently and will probably debut them this week here at home.
This is what no tv looks like. It’s not as difficult as I imagined. Here we go week #2.

What a good job as mom! It would be interesting to analyze why they do their papers differently – see if it matched their personalities! (Of course, I don’t want anyone trying to analyze me!).
It’s good to let them be creative. I found that Taylor loves to “make papers” – but doesn’t necessarily like to do things exactly like they’re supposed to be done – in little kits, etc. And she gets sick of just coloring. So for Christmas, I’m giving her a plastic box full of markers, paints, glitter glue, pompoms, feathers, misc. stickers, colored sand, a package of foam cut-out pieces, paper, construction paper, scissors, ruler, etc. and am just going to let her go to it. Of course, she’s older than your boys, but it sounds like they like the same kind of things. Of course, there’s not guarantee that all those things are going to stay nice and neat in the box!!
Anyway….Keep up the good job mom!!! And reward yourself by taking some time out for yourself to quilt, read, whatever!!!!!
