Friday evening Josh and I took the boys to Dairy Queen as our entertainment for the night… I mean, for the weekend. As we were going through the drive-thru, Josh pulled out his wallet and showed me something he’d forgotten to show me earlier in the week. Take a look:
Can you read it?
For those of you who don’t know, Josh works as a service advisor in a car dealership and he got this from a customer, an older gentleman who wrote: “Josh, 7-22-08, Thanks for the great service.”
I got such a hoot out of this! First of all, it’s a $2 bill. It’s so sweet, unusual, funny, thoughtful, unnecessary. Does this guy carry around $2 bills should the mood strike him to give one away? And not only give it away, but write a personal note first. Would this have been an ordinary occurrence in another time? What a gesture!
It makes me smile – and chuckle – every time I look at it! I’m sure Josh will remember the next time this customer comes in for service.
