My baby is 2 years old today. He hasn’t been much of a talker up to this point, but that’s beginning to change. He’s recently picked up one of Jude’s favorite phrases: I don’t like it. Oh great, here we go again.
I delight in the way Jett looks at his big brother. Jude can be carrying on doing something that doesn’t even relate to Jett, and even though Jett doesn’t know what’s going on or why something is funny, if Jude’s laughing, he’s laughing too. Laughing and watching. Every time one gets up for the day or from a nap before the other, they will greet each other like they’ve missed the other. I can’t tell you as a mom how happy that makes me. Thank you, Lord, for those precious moments I get to witness.
Alright… to be fair, they definitely have their nasty moments, too. Moments they shouldn’t be in the same room with each other. Luckily, Jude has begun to growl (Seriously! And he’s not joking around.) when he starts getting angry, so I know trouble is on the horizon and can break it up many times before it starts.
But today is about Jett, my baby boy. Mr. Cuddly. Mr. Expressive Eyebrows. Mr. I Love Using the Big Boy Potty! (Fingers crossed.) Mr. Determination. Mr. Drooly. And on and on…
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!
This is the birthday card from Auntie Em:
