A junior plenty

Last week I realized that Jett didn’t have an appointment scheduled for his 2 year well-child visit.  I called the pediatrician’s office and they were able to get us in the same afternoon due to a cancellation.

Jett measured 37 1/2″ tall, which is in the 99th percentile.  And he weighed 31# 8 ounces, which put him in the 90th percentile for weight.  What a big boy!

He had to get one shot, but worse than that, he had his finger pricked to test his hemoglobin count and also to check for lead.  The kid bled and bled and bled!  Of course, he wasn’t ok with having a band-aid on his finger, so he ripped that off and he bled some more.  He bled enough that 2 nurses stopped me on the way out because it was all over my back (from Jett’s dripping hands as I held him).  Poor guy.  He was fine again by the time we left the office.

When we got home, I gave him a gummy worm because he did such a great job.  Minutes later, he starting coughing and reaching in his mouth.  He started gagging and then puked on the floor, reached down to get the in-tact gummy worm from the mess and – yep, you guessed it – shoved it right back in his mouth before I could stop him.   Gotta love that kid.
