I’m a recent discoverer and listener of The Dave Ramsey Show. Dave Ramsey hosts his own radio show where he takes calls from people all over the country answering questions about personal finances. In a country when you’re asked to open a charge account at almost every store you shop, Dave’s fresh take on [...] We’re fever-free as of about 12:30 am last night! Don’t you want to squeeze him? [...] Jett woke up today still battling this fever: Day 3. So far no other symptoms have surfaced. He’s more and more playful, but I have no idea why this thing is hanging around. Having fun in Daddy’s socks. Combing Grandpa Jamie’s hair. Hunting Easter eggs. Don’t ask about the helmet, I haven’t a clue. Jude: “I love eggs!” ************************************************** Yesterday, on the other hand, was spent comforting my two sick boys. Jett woke up with a 103 degree fever, and [...] We had a wonderful Easter weekend. One of the highlights was hearing my brother Jacob tell of the missions trip he took to Nicaragua last week. Jacob is 21 and a student at Iowa State University studying structural engineering. Around Christmastime, he heard about a group of college students with a church in Ames who [...] I’ve had heaps and heaps of humble pie shoved down my throat this mid-day. Can I just share with you what my lovelies have had me doing today? Lunch time: Jude refuses to try his pulled pork sandwich. He’s had these on a few occasions previously and has loved it. After 15 minutes, he says [...] We’re re-orienting ourselves with the great outdoors. The kids are discovering toys that haven’t played with for months; they’re also re-learning the boundaries of our yard. Jude was so excited to go outside the other day after his nap, he ran right into the door. See the bump on his forehead? Jett found [...] Here are pictures from last weekend when we celebrated Jude’s birthday. We went to Fuddrucker’s for hamburgers and then to Menards to look for a swing set. We found one later at Toys ‘R Us… it’s in the garage now; we’re waiting for warmer weather and more bodies to help with set-up. [...] Friday night I went to a housewarming party to benefit a young woman who goes to my church. I came home to this scene:
This was so hilarious to me. I didn’t know why, exactly, and then I realized that, yes – the [...] For each of the kids’ birthdays, my sister Emily has made cards for them. Here is the one commemorating Jude’s 3rd. Isn’t it rad? |
