Great first quilt projectGreat first quilt project

Here is the quilt I’m currently working on and will be showing you step by step how to make.  I don’t have a name for it yet, but it will be a quilt for a baby boy eventually.

A little background: several months ago before I had my youngest son, I was readying his [...]

Will’s quilt, pt. 2

Did you figure it out?

Do you know what the pattern is?

Here’s where it came all together:

It’s a Triple Irish Chain, silly!

In unconventional colors!  I let Will’s mommy choose the pattern and colors.

The back is the orange print you see peeking out above.

I love [...]

Will’s quilt, pt. 1

After finishing the Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt, I treated myself to a new project.  Now, this new project was one I had been looking forward to making for quite some time.  In fact, I used the promise of starting a new project as motivation for finishing the large previous project.

I washed up my fabric [...]

The journey of a quilt

One momentous thing happened during my blog sabbatical.  I finished the Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt I’d been working on for such a long time.

Here are links to a couple of previous posts on this quilt:

Misc.

I’ve been on a bit of a blog vacation this week – sorry to my loyals.  I’ve just been doing other things.  You know how that goes.  And, I can’t even put my finger exactly, on what I’ve been doing except laundry & picking up messes only for new messes to appear… oh and dishes.  [...]

Coincidence, I’m sure

I gasped because it looked [...]

Can't top that

Oh my goodness, yesterday was my busiest blog day so far.  How fitting.  Top that!

One downOne down

I’m done with the table runner!  It’s official: this is my 2nd favorite quilt I have made so far.  I would say as of now, my favorite quilt is this quilt pictured first because I love the block – the classic feathered star – and because of the quilting (trapunto):

But back to my [...]

Table runner updateTable runner update

Here’s an update on the blocks I posted last week.  I have half of the quilting done on this project.  I knew the cream fabric would be a great opportunity for fancy quilting – and lucky me – my customer gave me free reign!

I found this design in the book Infinite Feathers by Anita [...]

ProgressProgress

Sorry about the untimely posting to the blog the last few days, people.  I’m trying to adjust to life that includes cleaning every day and blogging has been pushed aside temporarily.  Progress on my house is still going well, I have a few positive anecdotes to share about my "new" house, but I’ll do that [...]
