I’m all retreated out! I had a great time at my first-ever (but not last) quilting retreat last weekend. Lots of sewing and even more eating. I started the quilt I designed (posted last week) on Friday morning. By the time the retreat ended Saturday afternoon, I had all the blocks completed and the [...] Today is a big day for my little ones. Jude gets to wear his Batman (pajamas) costume to preschool for a fall party. He can hardly stand the wait. We’re augmenting the "costume" with the mask from last year’s Batman costume. Look at this beautiful, glowing pregnant woman! Doesn’t she look great? Would you believe she’ll be 30 weeks along with twins next week? She looks so small! And check out this score: And this is what she got from me: Her baby girl names, you ask? [...] I had the pleasure of meeting baby Owen for the first time last night. He’s so adorable! Owen and his family are doing very well. Here’s the proud mommy and her precious babe: Look at that hair! I’ve started asking expectant moms for input as I design a baby quilt [...] By the time most of you will be reading this, my friend Leslie will already have delivered her twins! But as of time of publishing, she has yet to be induced. Her other labors have been super-fast and easy (like, enough to make us normal women gag) so her doctor is expecting the twins to [...] My mom took the boys for a couple of nights this past weekend. Josh and I got a lot done around the house, had friends over, finished my quilt, had a Dairy Queen date… good times! Here is the finished quilt: The design is not mine. The design and pattern is from Susan [...] They’re here! My printed patterns were delivered yesterday afternoon. I was very, very pleased with the quality of the printing and overall finished product. Let me tell you a little bit about the pattern booklet: It is printed in full color. It is coil bound so that it can lie completely flat or [...] One tricky thing about choosing fabrics and using them in a quilt is working with value. Not color, mind you, but the saturation of color making value light, medium, dark, and every range in between.
