Progress on Lovebirds (Circle gets the Square): I finished piecing the entire top last night. I had to stay up until 12:30 am to do it, but sometimes you just can’t quit when you’re on a roll! I used a variety of fabrics that contained red, black and white. I had bought a lot of cute “girl” fabric lately and I wanted to incorporate it into this quilt. I also didn’t want to cut the fabric up too much, so I just started slicing [...] Here is the quilt I made for my friend Anna’s baby girl, who is due a week from tomorrow, although my baby shower prediction was that she’d deliver on the 12th of May. Prove me wrong, Anna. Prove me wrong. The quilt has 4 appliquéd tulips surrounded by 9-patches, all set on-point. I thought the [...] I recently finished a customer quilt repair. A gentleman contacted me about repairing a quilt belonging to his fiancée. The quilt contained pieces of her grandmother’s clothing. Her grandmother died when this woman was a very young girl, so these scraps of her clothing are very sentimental to her. This quilt had been well-loved. In [...] Yes, we have a title. Spring Succeeds is a song by Olivia Tremor Control, and yes, it’s on our ipod. I have to admit it’s not a familiar song to me, but I love the title and it’s very fitting for this quilt. Thanks, Josh. Friday we had a friend over for dinner; he and Josh stayed home and hung out while my friend Barb and I went out for coffee and talked. It was fun a lot of fun.
