Here is the quilt I made for my friend Anna’s baby girl, who is due a week from tomorrow, although my baby shower prediction was that she’d deliver on the 12th of May. Prove me wrong, Anna. Prove me wrong.
The quilt has 4 appliquéd tulips surrounded by 9-patches, all set on-point. I thought the tulips would be perfect for a spring baby and I just love pink and yellow for a sweet little baby girl.
Oh, Sister is the name of the quilt. It’s a Bob Dylan song. I ended up naming this quilt. For one thing, Anna’s family always called her “Sis” growing up. Another thing, her baby girl will be a sister to 3 year old brother Taylor. Plus, I just love Bob Dylan, ok?!
Close up of an appliqué block. In the white background, I quilted loops and stars to repeat the theme of the pink fabric. I used the fusible web method of appliqué and then used a blanket (or buttonhole – I don’t know the difference) stitch to finish the edges of the appliqué using my sewing machine.

Hi Jess!
Thank you again for this quilt. Is soooo pretty! Everyday I am still not sure how I lived without Brooke before she was born. You need to let me know when you will be in Marshalltown again so you can come see her. TTFN
