No, this is not one of my creations. I wish. I found this on Cindy Needham’s website – check it out, her work is stunning. I discovered Cindy Needham because she was featured on an episode of The Quilt Show – an online community for quilters. Cindy has championed the revival of antique linens. She gives new life to these treasured items by quilting beautiful motifs that enhance the beauty of each piece. So many of these linens – whether they are tablecloths, napkins, hankies – already have hand embroidery, lace, applique or other details, so why not quilt them up and show them off?
So dig through your drawers, find Grandma’s old linens and revive them! I just might know someone who could quilt them for you! :)
For you quilters interested in her techniques, Cindy has a book called Wholecloth Linen Quilts: Patterns and Designs available here.
