Oh my goodness, yesterday was my busiest blog day so far. How fitting. Top that! I don’t think I’ve written much about Christmas yet. I don’t know… I’m feeling distracted. We have almost all of our shopping done, but none of the wrapping done. We do have a plan for the family get-togethers, though. Specifics [...] Here’s a fun one for you: My customer wanted a custom quilt to give to her brother and new sister-in-law as a wedding gift. The family just loves their dogs and my customer wanted to include pictures of the dogs belonging to her, her brother and her sister-in-law. She liked the look and style of [...] I’m done with the table runner! It’s official: this is my 2nd favorite quilt I have made so far. I would say as of now, my favorite quilt is this quilt pictured first because I love the block – the classic feathered star – and because of the quilting (trapunto): But back to my [...] I have to tell you, friends, about my super-awesome new quilt designer friend. Her name is Kelly and she is the owner of The Wooden Bear – a pattern design company she started in 2002. I met Kelly at the Ladies of the Lake retreat at the end of October; she gave a presentation on [...] Here’s an update on the blocks I posted last week. I have half of the quilting done on this project. I knew the cream fabric would be a great opportunity for fancy quilting – and lucky me – my customer gave me free reign! I found this design in the book Infinite Feathers by Anita [...] Sorry about the untimely posting to the blog the last few days, people. I’m trying to adjust to life that includes cleaning every day and blogging has been pushed aside temporarily. Progress on my house is still going well, I have a few positive anecdotes to share about my "new" house, but I’ll do that [...] I’m all retreated out! I had a great time at my first-ever (but not last) quilting retreat last weekend. Lots of sewing and even more eating. I started the quilt I designed (posted last week) on Friday morning. By the time the retreat ended Saturday afternoon, I had all the blocks completed and the [...] Today is a big day for my little ones. Jude gets to wear his Batman (pajamas) costume to preschool for a fall party. He can hardly stand the wait. We’re augmenting the "costume" with the mask from last year’s Batman costume. We kept busy, I got stuff done around the house, and didn’t turn the tv on once.
